Arcus helps to shape the future of FM

Award-winning facilities management company, Arcus FM, sees another cohort of colleagues successfully complete their apprenticeship programme.

Over the last 12-months, five enthusiastic young adults joined the organisation and began a Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship. Throughout their learning, the apprentices have worked on some of Arcus’ largest clients including Sainsbury’s and the Co-op, supported and guided by their trainers and management teams.

Lisa Jardim, Learning and Engagement Manager, said: “Our people make us who we are, and they are ultimately the reason for the success of Arcus. As an organisation, we are always seeking continuous improvement, and by investing in our colleagues, we’re able to develop individuals and create a technically competent workforce that will also support the future of our industry.”

Katie Fishwick, FM Direct Agent said: “It’s been a really exciting journey so far. Working in a customer service role no day is the same and the variety of work is what makes the role so interesting. Along with the support from my manager and team, I have been able to earn as I learn and have now gained a professional, recognised qualification – something I’m really proud of.”

As part of their learning, the five colleagues completed coursework followed by an assessment. Each were tasked to demonstrate their product and service knowledge and personal organisational skills. They then underwent a practical observation carried out by an independent assessor which concluded with a one-to-one professional discussion. These young adults have now been offered permanent positions within the business in a variety of roles.

Arcus prides itself on its learning and development offering, which is a key pillar for the business. All its programmes are designed not only to help colleagues climb the career ladder whether this is upwards or sideward but also help its people be the best version of themselves and help all colleagues do their role brilliantly.
