Arcus FM celebrates #NAW2023

At Arcus FM, we are fiercely proud of our approach to apprenticeships and the way we utilise them to build the careers of those that join us, as well as our existing colleagues. This week (6-12 February 2023) is National Apprenticeship Week, so we’ve been in touch with some of our amazing colleagues to hear about their experiences of using apprenticeship schemes.

When most people think about apprenticeships, their mind springs to school leavers and someone getting a trade under their belt as their first job. And of course, that is true for a large proportion of apprenticeships, and a core part of our offering at Arcus. Using apprenticeship schemes to meet the skills gap we see in our sector, bring on the next generation of engineers and technicians, and start someone out on a full and rewarding career path is a core part of our strategy. In the below video, you’ll hear from Louis who is doing just that.

But apprenticeships and using the apprenticeship levy to fund continued personal development throughout a career allows much greater opportunities beyond this. In the video you’ll also hear from Katie and James, who joined us as apprentices back in 2018, but have since progressed, are doing their next round of qualifications using the apprenticeship schemes, and now find themselves managing and mentoring others.

Michael’s story, the final in the video, takes that a stage further. Utilising apprenticeship funding, Michael is undertaking a Level 4 Facilities Management qualification through the IWFM – giving him vital knowledge and experience that will not just benefit him, but those he works with, the customer, and the wider business.

You can hear from each of our amazing apprentices by viewing this video:

A huge thanks to Louis, Katie, James and Michael for sharing their stories with us.
