Arcus FM gets its bake on and raises £1,666 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Leading facilities management company, Arcus FM, got its bake on, with colleagues taking part in a Great Arcus Bake Off competition, raising a fantastic £1,666 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Colleagues from across the organisation in the Glasgow, Upminster and Redditch offices donned their aprons and cooked up a storm hoping to be in with a chance of being crowned ‘star baker’. There were a whole host of fabulous bakes including chocolate fudge cake, a castle extravaganza and a classic Victoria sponge.

Each baker donated £5 to enter the competition and there were first, second and third prizes for each of the locations, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Alan Wright, Central Operations Director, said: “It’s great to see so many of our colleagues coming together across the business, going the extra mile to raise money for such a worthy charity.”

Sarah Diston, Regional Fundraising Manager for Worcestershire, came along to the Redditch celebrations to show her support for the fundraising efforts taking place.

Sarah said: “It was great to go along to the office and see how much effort the teams had put in to make the day good fun for everyone.

“Macmillan is delighted to hear that Arcus FM has raised £1,666 and we’re so grateful for all of their donations which really do go a long way to supporting people in Worcestershire living with cancer to live their best lives.”

The ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer and last year raised £26 million. Devastatingly cancer will affect 1 in 2 people during their lifetime and fund-raising events such as this can really make a difference to those people.
