Hi, I’m Finlay, Talent Acquisition Advisor at Arcus. My role focuses on executing talent attraction strategies while prioritising candidate experience and engagement. I work closely with the M&E, Refrigeration, and MER operations teams to create a smooth and effective recruitment process.

Arcus looks for determined individuals. We are challenged to provide an excellent service for our customers, focused on efficiency – each of our roles plays a part in that. Determination and innovation are key to improving these efficiencies.

We explore multiple avenues to help solve this challenge: We offer apprenticeships and training opportunities to candidates and colleagues, to bring new people into the industry; we exhibit at Jobs Fairs to promote careers in FM; we also partner with colleges and social value partners such as the Care Leavers Covenant, Clean Slate Solutions and Recruitment Junction to cast our net as wide as possible and that individuals from all backgrounds are made to feel valued and welcomed to the industry.

At Arcus, we always look to promote from within and provide all colleagues with a platform for growth and development. Some of how we do this are through external training courses as well as programmes delivered at our state-of-the-art National Training Centre. We also promote cross-department upskilling to make sure that a wide range of pathways are available to all colleagues.

Arcus’ culture is one of collaboration and innovation, promoting diversity and inclusion while fostering a sense of empowerment and championing fresh ideas. Colleagues are always encouraged to challenge the way we work to improve processes and efficiencies.

In my two and a half years at Arcus, I have witnessed the collaborative culture and cohesion across all of our departments, building a strong team ethic throughout the business that is a credit to our people-driven approach.

Looking ahead, we will continue to support early career development and apprenticeships. The National Training Centre facilitates easier upskilling and training, allowing us to recruit based on the essential soft skills we value and provide career growth opportunities.
