
Leading facilities management organisation, Arcus, has been awarded a contract by the Co-op, to provide total facilities management service for 13 of its distribution centres across the UK.
Arcus has secured the five-year contract, which will see the company provide a total facilities management service to the food retailer, including both maintenance and cleaning services across the UK.
Mark Taylor, Operations Director for Arcus said: “We’ve worked with the Co-op since 2017 and over the last two years we’ve established a strong relationship, delivering refrigeration maintenance services across 515 of its stores, in the South East of England.
“This is a fantastic achievement for us as a company and elevates our depot delivery beyond our current single client offering.
“This contract has been made possible by our people’s commitment and passion for delivering a winning service for the Co-op.”
This announcement is a further addition to the company’s existing facilities management contract which has seen Arcus work with the Co-op, to provide refrigeration maintenance service in the South East region since 2017.

Arcus has been awarded its first public sector contract with Central Bedfordshire Council.
The seven-year partnership will see Arcus delivering hard FM across the estate, including, 53 corporate buildings, as well as four care homes and 10 children’s’ centres. There is also potential for over 150 schools across Central Bedfordshire to be included within scope.
Steve Willis, COO of Arcus, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the contract with Central Bedfordshire Council. This is a brand-new sector for Arcus, and we’re excited to be going into partnership with an organisation who shares the same goal.”
The services Arcus will be providing are underpinned by the company’s strong social value proposition. Arcus intends to develop their public sector FM work as a positive route for people getting into or re-entering the world of work.

Arcus heavily invests in its people and their development utilising industry leading learning content, physical training facilities and work-based skill development programmes. Through this partnership it aims to increase employment opportunities for people within local communities and support socially responsible projects in the area.
Arcus will provide, general works, including reactive repairs, planned maintenance, emergency works, capital projects and compliance testing.
Repairs will primarily cover a majority of the works including, mechanical, electrical, general building, windows, doors, flooring, roofing and ground works.
Compliance testing will cover all of the statutory obligations and testing of compliance items across the entire estate.
Councillor Eugene Ghent, Executive member for Assets and Housing Delivery at Central Bedfordshire Council said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Arcus who’ll provide all of our building maintenance and repair services across our whole estate. Having a single provider for all of our buildings means we are making the most efficient use of resources. We’re also excited to be working alongside Arcus on social value initiatives to provide work experience placements and employment opportunities for local residents across the area.”

Leading facilities management company, Arcus, has been awarded a £28m per year contract delivering commercial cleaning services to one of the UK’s largest supermarkets, Sainsbury’s.
Arcus, who already provides bespoke facilities management services to the household name supermarket, has secured the four-year contract, providing soft services to more than 300 stores nationwide – making it the largest commercial cleaning supplier to Sainsbury’s across the UK.
This win will see 1,000 new colleagues join Arcus, who provide a range of hard and soft services to a number of leading clients across the UK.

For nearly a decade, Arcus has successfully worked in partnership with Sainsbury’s as their facilities management managing agent, progressively increasing self-delivery. This includes, mechanical and electrical work, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), photovoltaic maintenance, building fabric, lighting, drainage, refrigeration, fire safety, biomass, cleaning and landscaping, energy services, building management and remote monitoring.
